June 4, 2009 Many more models added to the France 1940 section -- 25mm AT guns, UE carriers Lorraine carriers, Panhard 178s, etc. May 22, 2009 New Section Added: France 1940 -- numerous models, with many more to come. In fact, they are done, but the camera has crapped out again. Lots of other models added: Numerous LAVs (mainly ISM) and trucks to the USMC section, a based Challenger 1 Regiment for the UK, plus Skytrex's Tracked Rapier, FV-432 Cymbeline radar, CinC's Fox, Skytrex's Chieftain Bridgelayer, an AMX-32 and a Saviem truck for France, an M132 flamethrower vehicle for the US, and the CinC ZSU-57-2 for the USSR. April 17, 2009 Sorry for the late update... I've added a number of new models, including many Italian and UK WWII models. Also added: a number of ISM USMC models and GHQ's BM-21 to the USSR section. Also, there are now 1/300 scale models available from a company from Hong Kong (just search 1/300 cars on eBay). They are dirt cheap (100 for $9), and look pretty good. One of the three models:  February 25, 2009 More models for the Western Desert The Diana SP AT gun from Armstrong miniatures for the Germans, plus Crusader I, A-13, Morric Armoured Cars, infantry support weapons, Lloyd carriers, Morris trucks, and other for the UK. February 18, 2009 A bunch of new models added, including a pair from Armstrong Models. I've added two new sections (WWII Germans and WWII Brits), though they have only a few models so far. I've also added three new Nichimo aircraft and a CinC F-18 to the USMC section. Also added another Puma for France (with I-94 decals), a Mig-21 for Poland in the Warsaw Pact section, several Greek models, and an H&R SA-8 for the Soviets. January 30, 2009 With the help of Andrew Kirk and Tim Gow, I've significantly expanded the ISM section, with pictures of more than 30 new models. In addition, once I get my camera sorted out, I'll have about 10 more of recent eBay acquisitions. January 3, 2009 Happy New Year! Numerous new Greek models added, along with both CinC and GHQ's BRDM-2/AT-5 vehicles on the Soviet page. For the US, I've added shot's of GHQ's excellent M151 Jeep w/TOW. I've also added a third WWII army -- the Imperial Japanese. They're all GHQ models at this point, and good ones. I have some Nichimo aircraft in the works. Also, be sure to check out Armstrong Models -- the fastest growing line of micro armor out today. If you're interested in unusual WWII vehicles, they've got what you are looking for. Look for painted up examples of some of their new models on these pages in the next few months. December 17, 2008 Just a quick update between the holidays... I've added a few models -- A FRG forward observer M113, plus a JgPz Jaguar, and for the Soviets, a company pack from ISM, plus a JS-3 and both new GHQ BTR-152s. My Japanese Combat Command is painted and sealed and awaiting basing, along with a large number of other models. October 21, 2008 More models, many from ISM, plus I'm now starting to add images of full (platoon-scale) units. The first ones -- US ROAD Infantry battalion and brigade, plus a Soviet Tank Unit (according to ISM...) In this update -- a group of custom-built Canadian M113 TUA AT vehicles New additions: new shots of UK Challenger and Chieftain, CinC Jagdpanzer Kanone and MAN 7Ton for the FRG, Many new Soviet units, including several ISM tanks and a number of support vehicles, plus H&R BM-21 and others (many others...). Also US National Guard Infantry. OK -- several unknown models in this round: Looks like a Soviet MRL, but don't really know...  Also, anybody have an idea what this is?  September 2, 2008 Back after a sizeable delay... New models added in this round: For the US: Vietnam-era US infantry from GHQ (masquerading as 1980s National Guardsmen), Scotia FAV, Skytrex HMMWV FSV, H&R SP HAWK, 106mm RR on Jeep, and M551 Sheridan. For the USSR: BTR-80A, MTK-1, MTK-2, MAZ heavy tractor, BM-14, various D-30s, and yet another SA-8. Various Others: Canadian GMC Pickup, Greek M48, UK Saxon (Skytrex), Swedish PBV-302, Israeli M51 Super Sherman, French AMX-13 and AMX-30 painted with different techniques, and West German Leopard II (CinC) and Leo 1A1A1 (GHQ) Also: Mark Bevis's custom FV-215B assault gun Plus... the first installment of the French Army of 1940 July 9, 2008 A Reasonably Sized Update... I've got shots up now of some excellent custom US and Soviet models from Rick Denman (see them on their own page HERE). Also -- more WWII Italians (infantry now mounted), Lots of Israelis, Soviet SS-21, others, plus Italian Leopard ARV, FRG CinC Gepard, and a couple of Canadian models. Meanwhile, the NATO OOB 1989 (see left) has been heavily updated. Thanks to all those who identified the mystery vehicles. Adrian Barnard says the center model is Skytrex's Kraz 255b Engineering vehicle, while Jason Pasquale identifies the lefthand model as CinC's UK37 Bedford Tanker and the righthand model is Scotia's SA23 Samil 100 Pol Tanker. April 15, 2008 The Italians are here! (well, their WWII predecessors at least) The first installment of my Italian Desert War models is now online, with more to come in the near future. April 3, 2008 Numerous new vehicles added, including the AH-56 Cheyenne (US) and the G222 (Italian) from Ian Starling miniatures. In addition, thanks to Andrew Kirk and Mike McCloud, I've vastly updated the ISM section, including a scan of an ISM catalog. Other updates include many new Soviet vehicles (including the Kraz heavy truck and T-80 from GHQ and the 2S3 from CinC), plus the new GHQ Saxon (UK). Mystery Vehicles -- Can Anyone Tell Me What These Are?    March 3, 2008 New special feature added -- Vintage GHQ A look back at the early years of GHQ, including an issue of their magazine, a copy of their 1978 catalogue, plus shots of older models, packaging, and GHQ built under license. February 22, 2008 I've added a veritable horde of new models, including about 22 for the Soviets (in other words, too many to list here). Others added: UK FV432 Cymbeline radar vehicles, Danish and Belgian artillery units, a number of FRG vehicles, including new Marders and custom Fuchs with Rasit Radar, and an LST-8 landing craft for the USMC. Also, another special featurette added to the Belgian section -- the complete platoon-scale Mech Brigade for Fistful of Tows or Combined Arms, plus details on mounting and storing units. Oh, and I also updated my inventory in excel and added shots of Nichimo's F-4 and EA-6 models to the Nichimo 1/30 article. January 31, 2008 New Article Added: Top Ten Micro Armor Must-Have Accessories (here) Also added images of Scotia's EFA Mobile Ferry from Ben Behrens (here, scroll down underneath the Vendhaume Fighters section). I've also changed the color scheme a bit. Finally, I am now working to promote new micro armor makers on the site. The first advert is from Armstrong Miniatures, a new maker of WWII models. I have their Italians, and the quality is quite good. January 7, 2008 Happy New Year! Ok, I've been putting off this update for quite a while. Between work (how long is this presidential primary process, anyway?) and the holidays, there has not been a great deal of time. That said, there are a significant number of models in this update. For the USSR, there is the SA-4 SAM and SA-4 Reload vehicle from Scotia, AT-T tractor from CinC, AT-T recovery vehicle from Scotia, S-60 and ZPU-4 AA guns from GHQ, and SS-20 from CinC. West German models added: MLRS, CinC M577, TAM Mortar, others. US: CinC M578, M247 DIVADS, CinC Dump Truck, different versions of the M2 and M109, CinC's M48A5 and more. Also added: ASPIDE (under Italy) and S-Tank (Sweden), France (SA341 Gazelle and Crotale) plus several UK models. November 6, 2007 Several new models added: for the US -- M48 w/M60 turret and an AMRAAM HEMTT conversion. For the USSR, Scotia 2S4, 122mm howitizer, and 152mm howitzer, plus T-62 with Mineroller, PT-76, and SA-10. October 14, 2007 I've been working to expand my Italian forces. In addition to the VCC-1s and VCC-2s, I've now added LVTP-7s, AR-76/TOW jeeps, and 40mm Bofors AA guns. I've also added CinC's AMX-30 to the French, the Scotia 160mm mortar to the Soviets, and more shots of the Greek Leo 1A3. September 18, 2007 I
have added a new section containing extremely detailed orders of battle
for NATO and Soviet Forces at the end of the Cold War. The three
Soviet files were created by Tank-Net.org's Konev from Russian sources,
and probably represent the most accurate data that we are likely to see
on the Soviet military facing NATO at the end of Cold War.
The NATO file is a project I have been heading up for about 2 years now, and remains a work in progress. That said, with the aid of a number of individuals on Tank-Net and elsewhere, we have developed an extraordinarily comprehensive look at NATO at the end of the Cold War. Most or all of it is based on official documents, and there are fairly comprehensive notes in the document on where the information came from. Both should be of great use to anyone looking to set up a late Cold War game or for those with an interest in the military history of the period. I would also like to add a request that anyone with more information on the subject contact me. There are certain sections of the NATO document that still need significant work, particularly the sections on Turkey and Greece. In addition, I am looking for information on the organization of National Guard and Reserve Army aviation units. One word of caution -- the files can be quite large, particularly the GSFG and the NATO files. Finally, an update. I've been working on a lot of terrain lately, and not a lot of models, but here are a dozen or so new ones. For the UK, I've added another version of the Ferret and GHQ's Saladin. Also added: a number of Soviet engineering and recovery vehicles, including GHQ's BTS-2T and a pair of unusual Scotia models. On the US page, I've added GHQ's M-42 Duster, a pair HMMWV specialist vehicles from CinC, and an M-198 155mm howitzer. Other additions are to the Greek and Belgian pages. July 10, 2007 Just a quick note to say that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth... I've been rather busy with real life lately, and have had only limited time for micro armor. I'm getting back into it now, though, and will have more updates soon, including several battle reports and information on a new manufacturer. Longer term, I'm putting together a database of micro scale decals suitable for modern use. April 16, 2007 OK, taxes are done and a minor update has been added. A large number of models have been added to the ISM section, along with several new Greek and FRG units. March 21, 2007 Turning to the Med with two new sections added this month -- Italy and Greece. The Italian section contains a number of photos of my attempts to model various Italian vehicles -- including the VCC-1 and VCC-2 personnel carriers. The Greeks have a cool paint job. Also did some updates to the manufacturers section. Other new additions this month include the Nichimo E-2C (under USMC), another version (again, custom built) of the Belgian M113A1-B, the Soviet Mi-8 and SA-13, and the FRG ISM Leo-2 (plus probably a number of others I have forgotten about) February 27, 2007 Newly added: the first battle report from an ongoing campaign being played out using the Fist Full of TOWs rules set. The campaign (of which three battles have now been played) takes place in Denmark during a fictional WWIII set in 1988. The attached PDF has the battle report that was published in Northern Virginia Gamer's "Gamer's Closet" magazine. There is also a full campaign briefing in the new Battle Reports section. Also added a few new models -- AMX-30 Roland for France, F-111 for the US, and F-5E for the US Navy (under the USMC section) February 23, 2007 A dozen new photos of some really cool vehicles added to the ISM page, thanks to Rick over at RedRick.net. February 17, 2007 I've added a new section -- models from others. The first addition to the section is WWII German paras from France-based Vendhaume Fighters, who do tremendous work in 6mm. Other additions include a number of new models for the ISM section (German Man 5 and 7 tonners and an unusual HMMWV-Hellfire AT vehicle), Soviet Paras and BTR-D, West German Wiesels, Also added a page for Swedish models, although I only have 3 different ones at this time. January 29, 2007 I've added another "Special Feature" article -- this one on the defunct manufacturer In-Service Minatures. See the link on the right. Also added this month: a number of US Models, including H&R's M247 Sgt York, ISM's M35, M1 Abrams, M577, and CinC Chapparal.
